Girls’ Night Out

Have you recently discovered that your little girl is growing up? Have no fear!

There are multiple resources out there to help guide you and your daughter through this important stage in her life.
One that I have recently come across is Girls’ Night Out by Michaelann Martin. The main purpose of this book is twofold:

1. To immerse mothers in the beauty of their femininity and in the wonder of being daughters of God
2. To equip them with the tools to share these insights with their own daughters.

This exciting, fun-loving book gives you as a mother practical ways to discuss important topics with your daughter. Such topics include; Embracing your Natural Beauty, Growing in Relationship with God the Father, Discovering Fun and Faithful Fashion, and one of my favorite chapters: Exploring Vocational Options.

The best part about this guide is that everything is provided for you, just like an ENDOW study!

Each chapter discusses an important lesson for both you and your daughter to learn. Then it provides a delightful “Girl’s Night Out” activity for you to do together. These special ‘dates’ allows you to spend quality time with your daughter while explaining the lesson in a fun and captivating way. Each activity is followed up by a Journal and Prayer Time Reflection so that you can process your time together with the Lord.

As a twenty- year old young woman, I loved the ideas presented by Michaelann. These are the activities that I thoroughly enjoyed doing with my mother as I was going through the adventurous adolescent years. These special moments with her are the ones that have impacted me the most and have molded me into the young woman I am today.

Spending this special time with my mom allowed me to see her as a role model of true femininity. Her example has guided me closer to Christ and she has taught me how to make Him my first love.

Your daughter is eager to learn about these topics and will enjoy discussing them with you. If you are at all uneasy about having these discussions, there are possible dialogues for you to reference to help guide you through the more difficult topics.

By going through this book, you will find yourself eager to go on these ‘dates’ with your daughter. These moments are the ones that will imprint on her heart forever. This quality time will aid in the formation of her character and values, and most importantly will help her understand her inherent dignity as a Child of God.

Remember that the more you invest in her, the more she will blossom as a beautiful Daughter of the King!
