Is Endow only for women?
Yes, and no.
Endow stands for Educating on the Nature and Dignity of Women, intentionally borrowing from the title of John Paul II’s Apostolic Letter on the Dignity of Women, Mulieris Dignitatem. So yes, Endow’s primary mission is the education of women about their God-given nature and dignity through studies on the feminine genius, the writings of the saints (especially the female saints and doctors of the Church) as well as other important papal and magisterial documents with an emphasis on the writings of our inspiration and spiritual father, Pope St. John Paul II.
While we do not place men into small group communities, we do support the masculine genius and firmly believe that men should also be educated by the important documents of the Church, as all the primary sources we study were written for both men and women! For this reason, we invite all men to purchase our study guides and start groups on their own!
Additionally, some Endow Groups, at the discretion of the individual Endow Host, are coed! Some studies (for example, Endow’s study on Humanae Vitae) are gender-neutral and have been used by married couples and co-ed groups. We hosted a webinar on Humanae Vitae (Of Human Life) in the summer of 2020 which included married couples and had a member of the clergy on the panel. We also invited a member of the clergy to join us as a panelist for our summer 2021 webinar on St. Catherine of Siena. Furthermore, we have had groups of the Catholic Medical Association use our study guides in co-ed settings both for day retreats and for a Lenten Endow study using Salvifici Doloris (On the Christian Meaning of Suffering). While our LIVE webinars are geared toward women, we do put all webinar recordings on our YouTube channel. Additionally, our Endow podcast attracts many loyal male listeners and subscribers!
In particular, we recommend the men check out Why Men Should Read Mulieris Dignitatem and Into the Breach with Ryan Ayala (on reading this document with your high school boys and/or men’s groups).
Outside of the Endow world, there are many wonderful resources for men that we recommend including
