Sandra Miley first encountered Magnifica por Endow in 2022 through a parish study of Carta a las Mujeres (Letter to Women). She was drawn by a desire to deepen her interior life.
“Working for the Church can at times feel overwhelming,” she said. “I wanted to ensure that I was not only working my mission but truly living it.”
Sandra manages the Holy Trinity Center in Denver, Colorado, which serves as the residence of the Archbishop of Denver and hosts guests, meetings, and donor events.
During a pilgrimage to Spain, Sandra experienced a clear call from the Lord and Our Blessed Mother to return to Magnifica, this time as a host.
In November 2024, she joined a group of women who continue to sustain her. “It reminds me that I am not simply performing a job for the Church. I’m living out a vocation rooted in prayer, formation, and relationship with Christ, both personally and professionally,” she said.
The group has completed four studies in Spanish: Letter to Women, Rosarium Virginis Mariae, Salvifici Doloris, and St. Catherine of Siena: Setting the World Ablaze.
Studying with this close-knit group has taught her to fully listen. Before Magnifica, Sandra recalls being more focused on responding rather than being really present. Now, she is more comfortable saying, “I don’t know the answer. But I know how I can help you, and that is through prayer.”
By bringing things to prayer, she says, “we find what it is that He wants us to see or do.”
Faith Through Suffering
A cradle Catholic, Sandra developed a deep trust in God’s goodness early in life. It is a faith that supported her through the loss of her father at age nine and other painful experiences in childhood. “I came to understand that only He could truly heal my heart,” she said.
These experiences shaped her spiritual life and deepened her trust in God’s presence and mercy. She says, “What once felt like emptiness has often become the very place where He draws me closer to His heart and reveals His mercy and love.”
Studying Pope Saint John Paul II’s Salvifici Doloris was especially meaningful. “It’s reflection on the Christian meaning of suffering gave language and depth to experiences in my own life, helping me to see suffering…as something that can be united to Christ and transformed by His redemptive love,” she said.
The study affected the whole group. “None of us are without suffering in our own lives,” Sandra explained. “It opened a space for honest reflection and mutual encouragement as we each began to see our own trials through the light of Christ’s Cross.”
The women in the group are at different points in their faith journey, yet all have something to offer. Sandra reflects on the quiet insights of one of the women in the group:
“Her honest sharing and reflections have been profoundly moving and deeply fruitful for all of us. Through her openness and humility, she has become an instrument of grace in our midst…bringing unexpected growth, healing, and encouragement to the entire group. It is a powerful reminder that it is God who works through each person, often in ways we do not recognize in ourselves.”
The Joy of Hosting
For Sandra, joy comes from hosting. “Listening to the women and their stories has strengthened my own faith and given me the courage to share it more freely with Catholics and everyone I meet,” she said.
Even after long workdays, hosting Endow is about preserving sacred space within the busyness of everyday life. “I am reminded that hosting is about creating space where my sisters in Christ and I, myself, can remain hungry for Him and open to His grace,” she said.
Endow has enriched her understanding of Church teaching as intellectual, spiritual, and relational. “St. Catherine’s example helps me receive Church teaching as a path of conversion and deeper communion with Christ and His Church,” she explained.
Prayer has become a lived relationship, and the Rosary a way of walking with Christ through Mary. This formation has also shaped how she approaches her work.
“This understanding has been especially important for me,” she explained. “Seeing my work not simply as administrative support, but as participation in the life and mission of the Church herself.”
Sandra encourages anyone considering hosting or joining Endow to begin in prayer. “Only through prayer can one come to understand the mission to which the Lord is inviting them,” she said.
“As you begin to understand that mission, you may discover that what you are truly seeking is not merely social interaction, but God Himself.”
Please join us in praying for Sandra, her Magnifica group, and all our Endow hosts. You are truly the heart of Endow’s mission.
